On August 24, 2015 at approximately 1558 hours East Cocalico Township Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle accident on Rt 222 southbound in the area of East Church Street overpass. A Ford Taurus was traveling south on Rt. 222 and moved into the left passing lane to pass a series of cares in the right lane. A Ford Mustang, which had run out of gas, was stopped in the median area of Rt 222 southbound. The Taurus struck the Mustang in the rear passenger side bumper. The Taurus then flipped onto its side and crossed both southbound lanes, rolling several times after hitting the grass berm. The driver of the Taurus, a 62 year old male from Middletown, was transported to Lancaster General Hospital by Fivepointville Ambulance. The driver of the Mustang, a 17 year old male from Lancaster, was transported to Lancaster General Hospital by Reamstown Ambulance. The 17 year old is listed in critical condition.
