The Quarryville Borough Police Department has been following the CDC and PA DOH coverage regarding the concerns over the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). As a result, the police department will be implementing the following measures to do our part to remain available to serve and protect the residents of Quarryville in the safest manner possible. We may change or add to these practices as this situation evolves.
- Officers will have the discretion to handle minor complaints that are not in-progress by phone. Some thefts, frauds, or minor incidents may be triaged over the phone and determined if an additional in-person response is needed.
- Officers will try to keep a personal distance of 5-6 feet from you whenever practical and may not shake hands.
- We will suspend our non-custodial (not arrested) fingerprinting.
Ways you can help:
- Understand that this is for your and the community’s safety and health.
- Be patient and understanding that these are only temporary measures.
- If you have had contact with someone infected with COVID-19 or if you were exposed to someone known to be so, please advise the police dispatchers and the police upon arrival of this and do not be offended if the police wear protective gloves or masks.
- Follow the health recommendations from the CDC and the PA Dept. of Health.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation. Any questions please contact Chief Clark Bearinger at 717-738-3121 X 316.
