The Quarryville Police Department is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Part-time Police Officer. The Quarryville Police Department provides community oriented police services to the Borough of Quarryville, the Solanco School District and has contracts to provide limited police services in East Drumore Township and Providence Township.
MINIMUM STANDARDS:
Qualified applicants must meet the following minimum standards to be eligible for consideration:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be at least 21 years of age by the date of appointment.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Possession of a High School Diploma or GED recognized by the Board of Education.
- Must have successfully completed the MPOETC Act 120 Municipal Police Academy or be a currently certified police officer in another State and qualified to obtain MPOETC Act 120 certification by the date of appointment.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation.
- Possess the physical and mental skills necessary to perform the duties of a police officer.
Candidates not meeting the minimum standards or are found to be intentionally dishonest will be deemed disqualified from participating in the process.
INCENTIVES:
- As of January 1, 2024, Part-time Police Officers are compensated at a rate of $29.71 p/h with yearly increases, commensurate with a starting full-time Police Officer’s salary.
- Additional hourly pay increases for select holidays worked.
