Drug Overdose - Naloxone Save

On 3/26/20 at approx. 5 PM the PTPD along with Lancaster EMS and the New Danville Fire Company were dispatched to the 2000 Blk. of New Danville Pike in Pequea Township for a Cardiac Arrest incident resulting from a suspected drug overdose.  Officer Blank arrived on the scene less then two minutes after being dispatched.  He found a 35 year old male from Willow Street unconscious with CPR being performed by an off duty nurse and off duty doctor who had come upon the incident.  Officer Blank checked the males vital signs and found he did have a pulse, but inadequate breathing.  A drug overdose was suspected and Officer Blank administered one dose of Naloxone.  He then began rescue breathing and after 2 minutes administered a second dose of Naloxone.   The male regained consciousness and was supplied with opioid addiction treatment information and transported by EMS to a local hospital.  A special THANK YOU goes out to those individuals who stopped to help.
