On March 14, 2021 at approximately 1:43am NHPD officers were dispatched to a residence in the 200 Block of Locust Street (New Holland Borough) for a disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke with several victims who reported that a male had struck them with a bat and threatened them with a drill after an argument. The victims suffered minor injuries. The male was identified as Roger Wingert (age 49 of New Holland). Officers were able to locate Wingert hiding in a garage.
Wingert was taken into custody. While searching him, officers found that he was in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and associated drug paraphernalia. Wingert was charged with the above offenses and taken to Lancaster County Central Booking to await arraignment. His bail was set at $100,000 cash. He was unable to post bail and was ultimately committed to Lancaster County Central Booking.
Wingert is presumed innocent.
