BOROUGH COUNCIL APPOINTS JEFFREY S. MARGEVICH AS CHIEF OF MILLERSVILLE BOROUGH POLICE DEPARTMENT
Lieutenant Jeff Margevich has been named Chief of Police, becoming the first individual in the agency’s modern history to come up through the ranks of the department to reach the top post. Jeff was hired as an officer here in July 1997, promoted to sergeant in 2009 and lieutenant in 2017.
His career experience includes time served as a patrolman, five years detailed as a county detective for the Lancaster County Drug Task Force, patrol supervisor, department investigator, and most recently lieutenant and second-in-command.
A native Pennsylvanian, Margevich was raised in Lycoming County where his late father was assigned as a PA State Trooper. Jeff first came to Lancaster in 1990 to complete his degree at Millersville University and has remained here ever since. He now considers Millersville “home” and maintains close personal ties to the community with four children in Penn Manor schools.
