Now that the Lancaster County District Attorney has completed its review of the officer involved-shooting, which occurred on the 300 blk. Laurel St. on September 13, 2020 and determined that the actions of the officer were proper, reasonable, justified and lawful, The Lancaster City Bureau of Police has completed the internal investigation into the officer’s actions taken during that event.   The internal investigation included a review of investigative reports, analysis of information gleaned through interviews, a review of available video footage and 911 calls, a review of  training records, and a review of Bureau policies and training standards.   Based on the internal investigation, we have determined that the involved officer’s actions were consistent with Lancaster Bureau of Police policies and the officer’s training and Bureau training standards.   The involved officer, who will not be identified, has returned to full duty status, now that both the criminal and internal investigations have been completed.
