On January 11, 2021 Off. Gerhart took a report for access device fraud. On January 9, 2021 the victim lost a wallet containing credit/debt cards. When the victim realized the loss, various banks and agencies were contacted to "freeze" the respective accounts.
On Monday January 11, 2021 at approximately 1730 hrs. Off. Schwebel and Off. Costello met with the owner of a 2012 Nissan Rogue. The owner had parked the vehicle on the 100 blk. N. Duke St. earlier that morning. The owner believes that the key fob was dropped somewhere between the parking space and their place of employment.
On December 9, 2020 at approximately 1148 hrs. Off. Deitz responded to a residence on the 600 blk. Poplar St. for a reported theft of a bicycle.
On Wednesday December 23, 2020 at approximately 1749 hrs. a robbery occurred at the Pizza Hut, 777 Manor St. Lancaster, PA
A lone suspect, armed with a handgun, entered the business and demanded cash. Once the suspect had the loot he left the area on foot, last seen toward Fifth St.
On Monday November 16, 2020 at approximately 0039 hrs. an unknown male suspect stole a 2005 Toyota RAV4 from the parking lot of a repair shop on the 600 blk. Union St. The report for the theft was filed later that morning at 0910 hrs.
A property rental scam that is happening across the nation has made it's way to the Lancaster area. This scam involves rental properties and scam listings.
Now that Covid-19 protocols are in place for many companies, scammers are taking advantage of this new environment.
On Friday March 20, 2020 at approximately 2056 hrs. Officers from Lancaster Bureau of Police, Platoon B, responded to the Rite Aid 825 E. Chestnut St. for a report of a robbery that had just occurred.
According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), between January 2016 and December 2018, an average of 209 vehicles were stolen per day because drivers left their keys in their cars.
