On 2 January 2023 at around 10:19 pm officers from the Lancaster City Bureau of Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Pearl Street for a report of a suspicious package. Officers secured area and established a perimeter. Pennsylvania State Police bomb squad personnel responded to the scene at the request of the Bureau of Police. The item was found to be harmless and the scene was released. 

While all precautions were taken regarding the package, the public was not at increased risk and there is no danger to the public at this time. There are no charges against any persons at this time.
