On Monday August 12, 2019 at approximately 2152 hrs. Officers from Lancaster Bureau of Police, Platoon A, responded to the 700 blk. N. Shippen St. for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival Officers located a male with a gunshot wound to one of his legs. That male was transported to the hospital for treatment. The injury does not appear to be life threatening and the victim is expected to survive his injury.
Officers canvassed the scene for evidence, witnesses and potential video surveillance sites. At least one spent shell casing was recovered at the scene.
While Officers were attempting to locate witnesses and ascertain what occurred leading up to and during the shooting, a second victim, also a male, was located. This victim suffered a graze wound and it is not believed to be life threatening. That victim was also transported to the hospital for treatment.
The investigation is little more than an hour old as of the time of this press release. The details of the investigation are limited at this time. If any significant information is revealed a supplemental press release may follow.
