Robbery/ Shots Fired 500 blk. Rockland St. 9/7/2020



On Monday September 7, 2020 at approximately 2006 hrs. Officers from Lancaster Bureau of Police, Platoon A, responded to the the 500 blk. S. Lime St. for reports of shots fired in the area. 

As the Officers arrived at the scene, victims from a Robbery walked in to the lobby of the Police station. The victims stated that shots had been fired at them near S. Lime St.  The Desk Sergeant knew that the (2) incidents (Shots Fired & Robbery) were likely related. No injuries were reported by the victims. 

Officers on S. Lime St. found that a parked, unoccupied vehicle and a garage had been struck by gunfire. Officers also located spent shell casings on the ground. The scene was documented, photographed and evidence was collected. Possible video surveillance locations were noted. 

The Officers that had been at the scene on S. Lime St. returned to the station to speak with the victims. The Officers discovered that there were (2) separate but related incidents that occurred between 1900 hrs. - 2000 hrs. 

What the Officers were told was shortly after 1900 hrs. a male (18) & female (17) were walking near the intersection of Rockland St. and Dauphin St. The pair were confronted by an unknown B/M suspect. That suspect had been with a group of unknown males along the 600 blk. Rockland St. The suspect was armed with a handgun and let the victims know they were being robbed. 

After the suspect took loot from them, the victims were able to leave the scene. The victims returned to a residence and told others what had just happened. The victims and (2) other males went into a private vehicle and began to check the area for the suspect(s). They saw the suspect(s) and group in the area where the robbery occurred. The group ran in different directions. The B/M suspect was seen near the intersection on S. Lime St. and Green St. The B/M suspects fired several shots towards the victims and their vehicle was struck by gunfire. The victims then drove from the scene to the Police station. 

The B/M suspect was described as late teens to 20's, approximately 5'06" in height, dreadlocks, last seen wearing gray sweatpants and a white tee shirt.
