On Monday January 11, 2021 at approximately 1730 hrs. Off. Schwebel and Off. Costello met with the owner of a 2012 Nissan Rogue. The owner had parked the vehicle on the 100 blk. N. Duke St. earlier that morning. The owner believes that the key fob was dropped somewhere between the parking space and their place of employment.
The owner discovered the theft when they returned to the parking space at the end of the work day. The owner provided the necessary information about the vehicle. It was burgundy in color and displayed PA registration LHH5301.
The Officers contacted the Lancaster Safety Coalition (LSC) to see if any video of the theft/suspect had been recorded. The LSC operator checked recordings and found that an unknown male suspect entered the vehicle and drove away with it between 1622 hrs. - 1625 hrs. LSC cameras recorded the path of the vehicle for several blocks but were unable to locate the vehicle.
A further review of LSC recordings from adjacent cameras, prior to the theft, captured an image of the suspect on the 1st blk. W. Lemon St. at N. Prince St. The image showed a light skinned make wearing black pants, black shoes, a black hooded sweatshirt and black face mask.
