Access Device Fraud 400 N. Franklin St. 01/09/2021



On January 11, 2021 Off. Gerhart took a report for access device fraud. On January 9, 2021 the victim lost a wallet containing credit/debt cards. When the victim realized the loss, various banks and agencies were contacted to "freeze" the respective accounts. On January 11, 2021 the victim received notification from a financial institution that at least (1) card had several transactions from both physical locations and on-line purchases. The total amount of fraudulent purchases exceeded $200.00 

Information on the various purchased had been provided to the victim by the bank. That information was shared with Off. Gerhart and included in the offense report. The report was forwarded to CID/ Property Crimes for follow up investigation. 

Det. Toby Hickey received the report and was able to secure a video surveillance image of a suspect. The victim's card had been used at the Family Dollar store 420 N. Franklin St. on January 9, 2021 shortly before 2000 hrs. 

The image of the suspect appears to be a light skinned male with a heavy build. The suspect wore a mask, a light colored jacket, red hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and blue or green sandals.
