On October 3, 2019, at 1:59 am, Officers from the Lancaster City Bureau of Police were dispatched to 205 N. Christian Street for a possible fight outside. Upon arrival, the first officer found a group of people yelling and around an individual who was laying on the ground, in the first block of E. Fulton Street, near Christian Street.
The officer made contact with the victim, who was bleeding from the head and appeared to be suffering from a head injury from an apparent assault. EMS transported the victim to the hospital for treatment. The victim was admitted to the hospital to undergo treatment for a serious head injury and was receiving treatment over the last 12 days.
Officers conducted a preliminary investigation and the case was assigned to Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division. Since the assault occurred, investigators have been trying to locate and identify subjects who were with the victim at the Village Night Club prior to and during the assault.
On October 15th, at approximately 5:30 pm, investigators were notified by medical staff that the victim's condition had worsened and that he would not survive his injuries. A short time later, the victim was declared deceased.
The victim has been identified as Khristopher Wade, a 26 year-old male resident of York, PA. Investigators have been interviewing witnesses, family members and other subjects who may have information about the assault. Investigators are continuing to review video surveillance footage from cameras in the area and are obtaining additional video. Investigators are interested in speaking with any witnesses to the assault or anyone who was inside the Village and may have information about the person(s) who assaulted the victim. According to witnesses, the suspect approached the victim in the parking lot of the Village and punched the victim, causing him to fall back and strike his head. The suspect has been described as a black male, approximately 20-30 years old, tall, with a medium build and short hair.
