In March, West Lampeter Police promoted Officer Shawn Powell and Detective Steve Heinly to the rank of sergeant.  Sgt. Powell, a 10 year veteran of law enforcement with 4 years serving with West Lampeter Township Police, will be assigned to the Patrol Division and will lead Platoon A.  Det. Sgt. Heinly has been serving with West Lampeter 25 years, 6 of those years as a detective.  He will remain in the Detective Division and will lead the investigators.  

Sgt. Powell will replace Sgt. Matt Neidinger on Platoon A, who retired from West Lampeter Township Police in February of 2022 to join Strasburg Borough Police full-time.  West Lampeter Police thank Sgt. Neidinger for his many years of dedicated service and wish him well in his future endeavors.
