POLICE SEARCH FOR SUSPECT IN BANK ROBBERY ON WILLOW STREET PIKE

Police are searching for a male who robbed a West Lampeter Township bank Tuesday morning.

The robbery happened about 9:40 a.m. at Citizens Bank at 2923 Willow Street Pike.

The robber is described as a medium-build black male between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-9, who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black mask and black gloves.

Anyone with information is asked to contact West Lampeter Township police (717-464-2421) or submit information via this CrimeWatch post.

The male jumped over a counter and struck a female employee.

The male demanded money and fled through a rear door with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No weapon was displayed.

West Lampeter Township police were assisted by Lancaster city police (including their K-9 unit), Pennsylvania State Police and Pequea Township police.

The clerk was treated at the scene.
