A New Providence man was arrested by West Lampeter Township Police for Fleeing and Eluding, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and other charges on Thursday 18 October 2018.
At approximately 0902 hours (9:02 AM) officers were dispatched to the intersection of Sycamore Drive and Plymouth Avenue to check the welfare of a male sleeping in a vehicle. Upon Officer Shubrooks’ arrival, the male fled southbound on Lampeter Road in a white Toyota Corolla. The driver continued south on Lampeter Road, failing to stop for a steady red light at Lampeter Road and Millport Road. The male continued southbound, eventually crossing the double yellow line, traveling south bound in the north bound lane. Due to the driver’s reckless driving, officers discontinued their pursuit. Shortly after doing so, officers came upon several damaged vehicles, including the fleeing suspect’s vehicle at the intersection of Lampeter Road and Village Road. The male was apprehended on foot in the 1700 block of Lampeter Road. The 24 year old male was identified as:

It was determined that Morrison drove through a construction zone in the 1600 block of Lampeter Road, in which traffic was limited to 1 lane for both north and south bound traffic. Morrison used the north bound lane to pass stopped vehicles facing south. While doing so, he struck the driver’s side mirror of a 1999 Cavalier being driven by Nicole Reidenbaugh of Lancaster, PA. Morrison continued south, sideswiping the driver’s side of a 2018 Dodge Caravan driven north bound by Kim Kunis of Oxford, PA Morrison continued on, failing to stop for a steady red traffic light at Lampeter and Village Roads, where he struck a 2017 Jeep being driven west on Village Road by April Fantazzi of Strasburg, PA. The Jeep spun around and struck a 2013 Lexus facing east bound being driven by Melany Rios of Millersville, PA. Rios sustained a minor chest injury. Morrison fled on foot south on Lampeter Road but was apprehended by Officer Shubrooks approximately ½ block away. Upon arrest Morrison admitted to recent use of methamphetamines and was conveyed to LGH, where blood was drawn (results pending).
As a result, Morrison is charged by Officer Shubrooks before MDJ Benner with Fleeing and Eluding (felony), Recklessly Endangering Another Person (misdemeanor), 3 counts of Accidents Involving Damage to Attended Vehicles (misdemeanor), Accidents Involving Death or Injury While not Properly Licensed (misdemeanor), Possession of a Controlled Substance/Methamphetamine (misdemeanor), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (misdemeanor), Reckless Driving (summary), Driving without a License (summary), Driving on Right Side of Roadway (summary), Unauthorized Use of Registration (summary), Driving at Safe Speed (summary), Obedience to Authorized Person Directing Traffic (summary), Registration and Certificate of Title Required (summary) and Red Light Violation (summary). Morrison was held for arraignment.
Initial reports indicated that, after fleeing on foot from his vehicle, Morrison attempted to enter other stopped vehicles in the area of Lampeter Road and Village Road. No direct witnesses or victims came forward with this information at this point. West Lampeter Police ask that if anyone has information regarding this incident to contact them at 717-464-2421.
