****UPDATE****
Charges were filed by Det Sgt Heinly against Anya MYERS, an 18-year-old female from West Lampeter Township, for the April 27, 2022 crash. MYERS turned herself in to authorities on Tuesday, 7 June 2022. She was accompanied by her attorney. MYERS was charged with one count of Involuntary Manslaughter and one count of Careless Driving resulting in an unintentional death.
The striking vehicle, allegedly operated by MYERS, was identified from private surveillance cameras in the area and debris from the vehicle left at the scene.
MYERS has been cooperating throughout the investigation.
MYERS was arraigned by MDJ William BENNER and bail was set at $75,000 unsecured. MYERS also waived her preliminary hearing at this time.
MYERS is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

At approximately 0700 hours first responders were dispatched to the 1800 block of Rockvale Rd, West Lampeter Township for an unconscious male in the roadway. Officers arrived and found a male along the side of the road with serious head injuries. A damaged scooter was located near the male. There were no other vehicles in the area that were involved with the incident. The injuries were critical, and the coroner was called to the scene.
The male was identified as 43 year old Samuel S. King of Houser Rd, Lancaster.
After the day long investigation, at approximately 1430 hours, members of the West Lampeter Township Police were able to locate the striking vehicle. At this time the incident is still under investigation.
