On July 14, 2016, officers from the West Hempfield Township Police Department responded to the Rite-Aid Store, which is located at 1786 Columbia Avenue, West Hempfield Township, for a robbery.
Officers learned that a white male described as having a thin build, wearing a long sleeve shirt, jeans, hat, and sunglasses had presented a demand note to the Rite-Aid pharmacist, which indicated that he wanted oxycodone pills, and that no one would be hurt if the pharmacist cooperated with his demands.
It was reported to police that the pharmacist had just finished up with a customer before the robbery occurred.
The police learned that the subject had been waiting in line behind a customer, who had exited the store before the robbery occurred.
It was reported that there were only employees in the store during the robbery, and that no one was harmed during the robbery.
Investigators believe at this point, and there is no indication otherwise, that the subject acted alone.
The pharmacist complied with the subject’s demands, and that the male exited the store with an undisclosed amount of oxycodone pills.
The West Hempfield Township Police Department detectives later learned during their investigation that an individual matching the physical description of the male who demanded oxycodone pills from the pharmacist at the Rite-Aid Store in West Hempfield Township was possibly was the same subject who committed at least two other Rite-Aid Store robberies, in Middletown, PA and in Stewartstown, PA.
On or about August 4, 2016, the West Hempfield Township detectives learned that fingerprints lifted from the demand note from the West Hempfield Township Rite-Aid Store robbery, which were sent to the Pennsylvania State Police Harrisburg Regional Laboratory for analysis, had matched previously submitted fingerprints from an unrelated offense for a Joshua Ironlee Perry, DOB: 05.05.86, Last Known Address: 670 Hempfield Hill Road, Lot 35, Columbia, PA 17512.
