On Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at about 7:27PM officers from the West Hempfield Township Police Department responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Rt23 and Kames Hill Road, West Hempfield Township, Columbia, PA 17512.
The report indicates that one of the drivers, the defendant, Shari Lynn Nye, was driving a black Saturn SL1. The second driver was listed as driving a blue Dodge Grand Caravan.
Officers determined that Nye's vehicle had drifted into the oncoming eastbound lane of Rt23, causing her vehicle to strike the Dodge Caravan.
Officers determined that Nye showed signs of impairment at the scene, and Shari Lynn Nye had admitted to police that she had consumed alcoholic beverages before the crash that evening.
Officers also leaned that Nye's driving privilege had been suspended at the time of the crash.
On Thursday, October 20, 2016, an officer from the West Hempfield Township Police Department filed one count of DUI, section 3802 A (1) (M); one count of DUI section 3802 C (M) and one count of Driving while suspended 1543 A (S) charges against Shari Lynn Nye, DOB: 10/15/62, of 413 Cromwell Ridge Road, Hustontown, PA 17229, at Magisterial District Judge Miles Bixler's Office.
On Thursday, November 10, 2016, a warrant for Shari Lynn Nye was issued by Magisterial District Judge Miles Bixler. The court document indicated that the reason for the warrant was "Summons Undelivered".
