In September of 2016, officers from the West Hempfield Township Police Department were dispatched to contact a victim regarding a theft.
The victim reported to the police that the defendant, Clifford John Barton, Jr. had agreed to change the victim's brakes on his vehicle.
The police learned that on September 14, 2016, the defendant went to the victim's residence to change the brakes on the victim's vehicle. The victim reported to the police that he purchased the new brake parts for Clifford Barton to complete the work from a local store.
The police learned that the defendant, instead of repairing the victim's vehicle, had returned the vehicle parts to the place of purchase, and received $21.19 for the product.
According to the victim the defendant collected $25.00 for completing the work, even though the defendant did not complete the work on the victim's vehicle, and the $21.19 from the product return.
On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, the West Hempfield Township Police Department filed theft charges against Clifford John Barton, Jr. at MDJ Miles Bixler's Office in Columbia, PA.
On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, a criminal warrant was issued by MDJ Miles Bixler's Office for Clifford John Barton, Jr.'s arrest.
