On Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 1013 hrs; officers were dispatched to Rt 30 westbound at the Hill Street overpass in Mountville Borough for a report that a vehicle hauling a shed had struck the overpass. Initial reports indicated a large amount of debris was on the roadway.
Officers investigated and learned that Thomas L. Blank (27) of Gap, PA was operating a 2018 Peterbuilt truck westbound on Rt 30. The trailer was loaded with a wooden shed and was too high to fit under the underpass. The vehicle is owned by Dienner’s Transporation, LLC in Gap, PA
Mountville Fire Company responded and assisted with clean up, along with Fire Police Units from West Hempfield Township Fire/Rescue; Columbia Borough and Lancaster Township.
PennDot officials were called to the scene to inspect the bridge. Rt 30 was reduced to one lane of travel in the westbound direction while clean up and inspections were done.
The roadway has since been cleared and re-opened.
Traffic violations are pending against the driver of the truck.
