On Saturday, June 16, 2018, at about 10:13 PM, an officer from the West Hempfield Township Police Department observed a driver of a yellow Chevrolet Cobalt operating the vehicle without it's required registration lights. The officer attempted to have the driver stop the vehicle at the 100 block of Strickler Run Road in Mountville Borough.
The operator, who police later identified, as 33 year old Robert Edward Arnold of Mount Joy, PA, left his vehicle and fled on foot. The passenger and owner of the Cobalt, 28 year old, Tiffany Lynn Byron, of Quarryville, PA, remained with the vehicle.
Bryron disclosed to officers that there was marijuana in the glove box of the vehicle.
Police recovered three glass smoking devices with burnt marijuana residue, a marijuana grinder containing a small amount of suspected marijuana, and a brown pill container which contained suspected marijuana.
Arnold was not located that evening.
Bryron was placed into custody without incident, transported to the West Hempfield Township Police Department, and then processed.
Bryron was then released.
On Monday, June 18, 2018, Arnold was charged with the following charges at MDJ Miles Bixler's Office in Columbia, PA: One count of Possession of marijuana Section 780-113 A31i (M), One count of Prohibited acts drug paraphernalia Section 780-113 A32 (M), One count of Driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked Section 1543 A (S), and One count of General lighting requirements Section 4303 B (S).
On Monday, June 18, 2018, Bryron was charged with the following charges at MDJ Miles Bixler's Office in Columbia, PA: One count of Possession of marijuana Section 780-113 A31i (M), One count of Prohibited acts drug paraphernalia Section 780-113 A32 (M).
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
