On Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 1438 hrs; Officer Gabe Rimolo responded to a “Check on the Welfare” call in the parking lot of the Turkey Hill in Silver Springs. A caller reported a female seated in the driver seat of a white Honda CRV was passed out or possibly intoxicated. Officer Rimolo located Briana E. Melroy (24) of Lancaster in the vehicle. Melroy appeared to be intoxicated and/or under the influence of a controlled substance. During the investigation, Officer Rimolo located several syringes and numerous empty suspected heroin baggies. As a result of his investigation, Melroy was taken into custody and later submitted to a chemical test of her blood. The blood samples were sent to a laboratory for testing. After receiving a report from the laboratory, Officer Rimolo filed charges against Melroy for the offenses of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substances (2 counts); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Unauthorized Transfer or Use of Registration; and Required Financial Responsibility.
Melroy is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a Court of Law.
