On Sunday, March 11, 2018, at about 1:03 AM an officer from the West Hempfield Township Police Department conducted a vehicle stop on a 2003 Volkswagon van along the 1600 block of Columbia Avenue in West Hempfield Township.
The officer determined that the driver, 46 year old , Primie Demosthene Giles, of 77 Walnut Street, in Columbia, PA, was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.
After the officer conducted field sobriety testing, Giles was placed into custody without incident, and then transported to the Columbia Borough Police Department for a breath test. The officer reported that Giles' BAC was .145%.
The officer then transported Giles to his residence.
The driver was also charged for having an expired vehicle registration.
On Monday, March 12, 2018, the West Hempfield Township Police Department filed the following charges against Giles at MDJ Miles Bixler's Office: One count of DUI Section 3802 A-1 (M) One count of DUI Section 3802 b (M) and One count of Registration and certificate of title required Section 1301 a (S).
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
