On April 28, 2019 at about 3:30 AM, officers from the West Hempfield Township Police Department were dispatched to 101 Locust Road in Mountville, PA for a disturbance in progress.
Officers learned that the victim's ex-boyfriend, 23 year old, Michael T. Cates of Millersville, PA, was screaming just outside of her residence before he broke a garage door window to gain entry in her garage without permission.
The victim reported to police that Michael had then entered through a door in the garage, which led into the victim's residence.
During the incident, officers located a small clear plastic baggie containing marijuana on Michael's person.
The officers also reported that Michael appeared intoxicated, and that he admitted to officers that he had been drinking alcoholic beverages prior to the incident.
Michael was arrested without incident, charged with one count of Criminal trespass Section 3503 AII (F2), One count of Criminal mischief Section 3304 A5 (S), One count of Possession of small amount of marajuana Section 780-113 A31I (M), One count of Public drunkenness and simular misconduct Section 5505 A (S), and one count of Harassment Section 2709 A3 (S),and then transported to the Lancaster County Prison to await central arraignment.
Continuing on the same date, Michael was arraigned by MDJ Spangle and he received a $10,000 cash bail. Michael was unable to post bail, and he remained at the Lancaster County Prison.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
