The Susquehanna Regional Police Department received a donation of $1000 towards Electric Assist Bicycles recently. The electric bikes will give officers greater distance and the ability to respond to calls quicker in hard to reach areas such as the Northwest River Trail system.

Operations Manager Brian Chalk, presented SRPD with the generous check to start up this program. The bikes will be utilized to patrol during events such as community gatherings, Trick or Treat nights and Fourth of July celebrations. Some of the benefits of bike patrol is getting the patrol officers out of the cars and giving them the ability to interact with the community. This will not only increase police awareness, but will also increase community policing in our areas.

If you or your company would like to donate or assist in funding the E-bike program for the Susquehanna Regional Police Department, please contact us! We are in need of further donations to purchase these bikes.  Please contact Lt. Anthony Hall or Detective L. Jeffrey Sosnoski at 717-426-1164 for further details if you would like to donate.
