On 5/30/18 at approx. 1:40 PM the SRPD was dispatched for a welfare check to an address on Hamels Ct. in Pequea Twp. The occupant of the address was not answering his phone or the door of the residence. The reporting party responded to the address and found the door locked. From the outside he could observe the refrigerator and freezer doors hanging wide open and was concerned for the occupants well being. Officer Powell entered the residence and found a 26 year old male unresponsive. The male had a pulse but was barely breathing and appeared to be suffering from a drug overdose. Officer Powell immediately summoned EMS and administered a dose of Naloxone. The males breathing improved and he opened his eyes but remained in an altered level of consciousness. Drug paraphernalia was found in the trash can of the residence. EMS arrived and administered a second dose of Naloxone and the male regained consciousness and began talking. He was transported to the hospital for treatment.
