ARMED ROBBERY ARREST:
On August 24, 2018 the Southern Regional Police Department arrested Shane Aaron Trimble, 30 years of age, from Lancaster, Pa. for Robbery and Theft by Unlawful Taking. The arrest follows a year- long investigation stemming from a June 14, 2017 robbery which occurred at 0451 hrs at the Turkey Hill (store #076) located at 2101 New Danville Pike in Pequea Twp. Trimble displayed a handgun during the incident and fled the scene with less than $100 cash. Southern Regional Police obtained local business surveillance footage and observed the direction the getaway vehicle fled. Officers checked the area and approximately ½ mile away found the sunglasses and black mask worn during the robbery deposited along the roadway. On June 23, 2017 the items were sent to the PSP DNA Laboratory for analysis. On April 13, 2018 SRPD was notified that the mask was tested for DNA at a Pennsylvania State Police laboratory, which resulted in a match with Trimble . A confirmed match on the DNA was received by the PSP DNA Lab on August 20, 2018. The investigation found that the vehicle Trimble used was linked to a relative. On August 24, 2018 at approx. 1600 hrs. Trimble was taken into custody without incident and arraigned before MDJ William E. Benner, Jr. He was remanded to the Lancaster County Prison after failing to post $350,000.00 bail. Sgt. Burger conducted the investigation and is the arresting officer.
