Christian Saenen, 20, from Frogtown Rd. Pequea, has been charged with one count each of Criminal Trespass, Theft By Unlawful Taking and Possession of Heroin after an investigation of a theft which occurred at the Byerland Mennonite Church on Byerland Church Rd. in Pequea Township. On 8/27/16 a Burglary was reported by church staff. Church members reported that an unknown subject had entered the church and removed three microphones and two speakers. Saenen, who is a member of the church, quickly became a suspect. On 8/30/16 at approx. 9:30 PM, an alert witness called police after observing a suspicious pick up truck in the parking lot of the church. The truck matched the description of Saenen's truck. Officers quickly responded to the area and pulled the truck over just after leaving the church. The subsequent investigation recovered some of the stolen property, as well as a small amount of Heroin. Saenen was charged with the above and was committed to Lancaster County Prison.
