GUILTY PLEA to Rape of a Child and additional Sexual Assault charges
In January of 2018, the Quarryville Borough Police Department received information related to the sexual assault of a child. Through the course of the investigation it was determined that the suspect, eventually identified as Magdilio Diaz-Vasquez, now age 22, was sexually assaulting a child that he had access to due to his living arrangements. The child was 12-years of age when these sexual assaults began and continued for a period of several months. Diaz-Vasquez is from Guatemala and was living here in Quarryville illegally, having been deported back to Guatemala several years prior. He was living in the first block of West State Street at the time he was apprehended.
The Quarryville Borough Police Department sought the assistance of local ICE Agents for the purpose of apprehending and properly identifying Diaz-Vasquez. Several ICE/DHS Agents from York and Philadelphia assisted in this investigation and the eventual capture and identification of Diaz-Vasquez, who upon apprehension was held in the custody of ICE/DHS throughout the course of the investigation. Diaz-Vasquez is now facing felony charges for illegal re-entry into the United States by ICE/DHS.
On June 18, 2018, Chief Clark Bearinger charged Diaz-Vasquez with 1-count of Rape of a Child (F-1), 6-counts of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, (F-1), 6-counts of Statutory Sexual Assault (F-2), 1-count of Unlawful Contact with Minor (F-1), and 1-count of Corruption of Minors (F-3) before the Honorable Magisterial District Judge Stuart Mylin.
On January 18, 2019, Magdilio Diaz-Vasquez, plead guilty to the above listed charges and was sentenced to six to twelve years in a State Institution. Upon his release from the State Institution, Diaz-Vasquez will be returned to the custody of ICE/DHS as he awaits his felony deportation proceedings.
