An Aggressive Driving Enforcement detail is currently in progress on Rt. 272 in Pequea Township. Please slow down, don’t tailgate, use turn signals and move over when their is an emergency vehicle on the side of the road.
Due to a sink hole that developed last night, Marticville Rd. ( Rt. 324) is closed between West Penn Grant Rd. and Sprecher Rd. in Pequea Twp. PennDOT is in the process of assessing the issue and setting up a formal detour. The roadway will be closed for several days. Please find an alternate route of travel.
2:45 PM 3/26/21 - Marticville Rd (Route 741/324) is closed between Long Lane and New Danville Pk. in Pequea Township. The closure is due to a utility pole along the road that snapped at its base. Utility crews are aware and fire police are on scene assisting with traffic control. Expect delays in the area as traffic is detoured onto New Danville Pike and Long Lane.
Pequea Township has enacted a snow emergency. All vehicles parked along a snow emergency route must be removed from the public roadway. The Snow Emergency will be in effect for at least 48 hours or until rescinded.
As of 2:45 we've been advised that the south bound travel lanes are reopening. North bound is still closed, but should be reopened within the hour. Please continue to drive safely in the area.
This is an update to a previous alert regarding road closures due to a motor vehicle accident on Rt. 272 at Byerland Church Rd. in Providence Township. The accident is being investigated by the PA State Police and we have no additional information on the crash at this time.
11/13/19 - 1200 - Attention - Route 272 is being closed in both north and south bound direction due to a serious motor vehicle accident in Providence Township on 272 at Byerland Church Rd. The roadway is being closed at Linestown Rd. for south bound traffic and at Pennsy Rd. for North Bound traffic. This will place a large amount of traffic on the narrow back roads of Pequea Township. Please avoid the area if possible. Suggested detour route is to utilize Rawlinsville Rd. between Pennsy Rd. and Baumgardner Rd.
