Aggressive Driving Enforcement - Route 272

On 4/6/2021 the Pequea Township Police Department conducted an Aggressive Driving Enforcement detail on Willow Street Pike South at West Willow Rd. which is a 50 MPH speed zone.  The detail ran from 1PM until 3:30 PM with 20 drivers stopped for speeding.  One driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and one driver was driving without a valid license.   The highest speed clocked was 85 MPH on a vehicle that traveled through the area moments after a dad pushing a baby stroller walked across the intersection.

The enforcement is part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project and is funded by part of the department’s investment of federal funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Additional enforcement details will be conducted on Rt 272 and other area roadways in Pequea Township.  As part of the Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project, we are dedicated in reducing the number of aggressive driving related crashes, injuries, and deaths on roadways throughout our area. Any aggressive driver stopped by police will receive a ticket.
