Wesley D. Bines, 34 from Hamels Ct. Willow Street has been charged with one count each of the following; Strangulation (second degree Felony), Unlawful Restraint (1st degree Misdemeanor), and Simple Assault (2nd degree Misdemeanor) after an incident which occurred 12/13/18 at approx. 11:30 PM at his residence in Pequea Township.
The Southern Regional Police Department was dispatched to an address on Hamels Ct. for a reported domestic in progress. A 37 year old female from Reinholds was in a verbal argument with Bines. The argument turned physical and the female tried to leave the residence. Bines allegedly kept her from leaving the residence and placed both of his hands around her neck applying pressure to the extent she could not breathe. The female was able to escape the male and after again trying to leave the residence Bines allegedly put both hands around her neck restricting her breathing and pushed her to the ground causing her head to strike the floor. The female attempted to leave the residence and Bines again placed his hands around her neck for the third time before she was able to escape the residence. The female suffered minor injuries in the assault.
Bines was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with the above and transported to the Lancaster County Prison for arraignment. He was remanded to prison after failing to post $25,000 bail.
All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
