Man Down Response - Citizen CPR with AED Assistance by NLCRPD Patrol Officer

NLCRPD officers were dispatched to a reported man down call in the 900 block of the Lititz Pike. Upon arrival NLCRPD found a female performing CPR on a male who was laying on the road side. The female is a nurse and reported that the male, was not breathing and had no pulse.
The NLCRPD officer removed an AED from his cruiser and began the rescue process, placing AED Patches in place while the nurse continued to perform CPR. A shockable rhythm was detected and the AED administered one shock to the victim. Warwick Ambulance arrived on scene and took over emergency medical care placing the victim in the ambulance and transported to nearby UPMC Lititz for further care. The victim's family was notified. No further information is available.
