DUI; Endangering the Welfare of a Child and 10 other charges

On 2/12/2018 10:41 AM officers from the NLCRPD were dispatched to the area of Doe Run Road in Penn Township for a report of an erratic driver that struck at least 4 telephone poles, 2 road signs, sheared off a guide wire to a pole and almost struck 4 to 5 other vehicles. Regional police officers were able to get behind the driver and the operator was eventually stopped in Manheim Borough after almost striking a Manheim Borough police car.
It was determined through the investigation that the driver, identified as BRENT ALLEN EBERLY, age 44 of the 300 block of E. Lexington Road, also had his 3 year old daughter in the car. There were no injuries.
EBERLY was determined to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance and was transported to a local medical facility for further evaluation prior to being transported to Regional headquarters and charged with the following offenses: Driving Under the Influence of a controlled substance; Endangering the Welfare of Children; Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police; Recklessly Endangering Another Person; Reckless Driving; and 7 counts of Accidents Involving Damage to Unattended Vehicles or Property. The NLCRPD was assisted by Lititz Borough and Manheim Borough police.
EBERLY was arraigned before MDJ Edward Tobin and placed in Lancaster County Prison on $25,000 bail.
