While conducting a traffic detail utilizing license plate readers (LPR) in the 1700 block of W Main St, a NLCRPD patrol officer received an expired registration alert for a 1996 Black Ford Explorer displaying a PA registration traveling westbound. The NLCRPD patrol confirmed the hit electronically, the vehicle entered the parking lot of Turkey Hill on W Main St. with the registration verified as expired on February 29th, 2020
NLCRPD conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Barry Hartman, age 50 of 249 North State Street, Ephrata, PA and advised him of the traffic violation regarding the registration. A drivers license/warrant check through LCWC discovered an active NCIC warrant for Barry through the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office.
NLCRPD then transported Barry a location where custody was exchanged with the Sheriff's Office. Transport log completed. No further action.Video Capture: (Retention of video evidence subject to provisions enumerated in Standard Operating Procedures).
