NLCRPD patrols were dispatched to the 100 block of Penn Valley Village Road at 02:15 hours this morning for a subject reportedly in cardiac arrest. NLCRPD patrols arrived and found a middle-aged male subject deceased in a vehicle. The Office of the Lancaster County Coroner was notified of the event and responded to the scene to make further determinations.
The NLCRPD preliminary investigation determined that the male and his female companion attended a house party in the Manheim area earlier on Saturday and met an individual who transported them to the address on Penn Valley Road in Penn Township. The deceased and the female were sleeping in the car when the female awoke to find the subject in cardiac and respiratory arrest. She ran to a nearby residence to summon assistance. The male deceased had several underlying medical conditions that may have contributed to his demise. The manner and cause of the death remains under investigation by the Office of the Lancaster County Coroner. The name and age of the deceased is being withheld until the notification of the next of kin is completed. Both the deceased and the female are from outside of central Pennsylvania delaying the identification and notification process.
Due to the rain and other weather conditions NLCRPD requested assistance from the fire department and EMS providers for tarps and other on scene services. The body of the deceased remained in the custody of the Lancaster County Coroner pending further determinations.
