On December 18, 2020 NLCRPD patrols were dispatched to the intersection of Route 501 and East Newport Road for a report of a man down on the roadway, subject was reported to be unresponsive. NLCPRD patrols arrived in less than one minute and found a male suffering from lacerations and extensive bleeding. The subject was taken to the hospital for treatment and further evaluation and continues to recover from his injuries. NLCRPD investigators were able to locate and identify both the striking vehicle and operator involved in this case. Derek M. HULSE of the 400 block of Arrowhead Drive, Lititz was identified as the operator and interviewed. Probable cause was established to charge HULSE with Title 18 PACC 3742(a) Accidents involving personal injury (F) and Title 18 PACC 3744 Failure to render aid to the victim (S).
