The NLCRPD has arrested a Warwick Township man following an investigation into a reported stolen handgun and damage to two unoccupied vehicles where shots were fired into the vehicles. On August 29, 2017 at 08:00 hours a team of NLCRPD Criminal Investigators and NLCRPD Patrol Officers executed a search warrant upon a residence in the 100 block of Edgewood Drive in Warwick Township. The warrant was served without incident and a handgun was recovered by NLCRPD investigators. ERNEST HENRY FREISE Jr., age 53, of 3 Edgewood Drive, Lititz, PA was taken into custody after recovery of a 9mm semi-automatic handgun.
The investigation began as the NLCRPD was dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Brian Drive in Warwick Township on August 10, 2017 at 23:55 hours for a report of “shots fired”. On August 11, 2017 damage to the two cars in front of the same residence was discovered by the car owner. Damages were approximated at $265.00. NLCRPD officers collected shell casings and bullet fragments from the crime scene. NLCRPD officers began a door to door neighborhood canvass, and interviewed a subject identified as ERNEST HENRY FREISE Jr., later the same day after the initial interview FREISE Jr. approached the NLCRPD officer and reported he “just discovered his handgun was stolen”.
A report was taken by police for the handgun being reported stolen by FREISE Jr. As the investigation into both incidents continued it was determined that there was probable cause for issuance of a search warrant to locate firearms in the residence. After issuance and execution of the search warrant, the handgun reported stolen by FREISE Jr. was located. The gun was in a wall compartment hidden by a suspended ceiling in the basement of the residence.
FREISE Jr. was taken into custody and transported to the NLCRPD Headquarters for arrest processing and booking. FREISE faces charges including FALSE REPORTS TO LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES, POSSESSION OF INSTRUMENTS OF CRIME – POSSESSION OF A WEAPON, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, AND PROPULSION OF MISSILES ONTO THE ROADWAY. After arrest processing FREISE Jr. will be arraigned before MDJ Court 02-2-08 for establishment and posting of bail.
