On October 8, 2017 at approximately 12:15am NHPD was following up on a prior call at a residence in the 300 Block of East Jackson Street (New Holland Borough). During this follow up they encountered Rudolph Scott Peters (age 38 of New Holland). Peters was visibly intoxicated and was told by Officers multiple times to go back on his porch. Peters refused to go on his porch and decided to yell obscenities at the officers. Peters was advised that he was under arrest for Public Drunkenness, but he would not cooperate. Peters was eventually taken in to custody and charged with Public Drunkenness and Resisting Arrest. Peters was taken to Lancaster County Central Booking to be arraigned. Peters was ultimately committed to Lancaster County Prison after failing to post $5,000 bail.
Peters is presumed innocent.
