On March 6, 2019 at approximately 12:00am NHPD stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Peters Road and South Shirk Road (Earl Township) for an equipment violation. When the officers approached the vehicle they immediately smelled an odor of marijuana. The defendant, who was later identified as Travis O'Connell (age 21 of New Providence), provided a false name to officers. O'Connell was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and associated paraphernalia. Officers arrested O'Connell and later determined his real name. O'Connell stated that he believed he had warrants and that is why he provided a fake name. O'Connell was taken to Lancaster County Central Booking, where he was arraigned and bail was set at $10,000 cash. O'Connell was committed to Lancaster County Prison after failing to post bail.
O'Connell is presumed innocent.
