Ordinance Violation - Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana

On Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 1824 hours, Officer Pete Papadopoulos was on patrol when he observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation.  He pulled the vehicle over and identified Jean Ortiz-Lopez, 22, Lititz, as the driver.  When Officer Papadopoulos made contact with Ortiz-Lopez, he detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  When Officer Papadopoulos ran a check of Ortiz-Lopez's license, he found that it was suspended.  A search of the vehicle yielded approximately one gram of raw marijuana and several small marijuana "joints".  Based on Officer Papadopoulos' investigation, he issued a citation for driving with a suspended license, improper use of turn lane, and he also filed a non-traffic citation for violating Manor Township's Marijuana Ordinance.  This citation was filed at MDJ Keller's office.
