On Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 0223 hours, Officer Pete Papadopoulos observed a black Infiniti overtake a vehicle in an unsafe manner and nearly caused a vehicle accident at the intersection of Columbia Avenue and Millersville Road. The Officer activated his overhead lights and emergency siren and pulled the Infiniti over at the intersection of Columbia Avenue and Redwood Drive. The driver was identified as Gamaliel Rolon, 31, Lancaster. The Officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Rolon. His eyes were glassy, watery, and bloodshot. Rolon admitted he just left a bar and he was drinking an alcoholic drink. The Officer learned that Rolon's driver's license was suspended due to a previous chemical test refusal. The Officer requested that Rolon perform a series of standardized field sobriety tests which he performed with unsatisfactory results. The Officer requested that Rolon submit to a chemical test of his breath and he refused the chemical testing. Rolon was released to a friend after the incident. Based on the Officer's investigation, he filed charges of driving under the influence of alcohol (2nd offense), driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked (DUI related suspension), and overtaking vehicle on the right. These charges were filed at MDJ Keller's office.
