On Friday, January 25, 2019 at about 2131 hours Officer Andrew Long overhead a dispatch of an erratic driver traveling north on Millersville Road. Officer Long was able to locate the vehicle, a Kia, and got behind the vehicle. He followed it north on Millersville Road and observed poor driving. When the vehicle reached the intersection of Millersville Road and Columbia Avenue the vehicle made a hard left and started traveling westbound in the eastbound lane. Officer Long was able to pull the vehicle over shortly after that. He identified the driver as Theresa Carlson, 55, of Millersville. Officer Long detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver's breath. He had her perform standardized field sobriety tests and she was unable to complete these tests with satisfactory results. Officer Long asked Carlson to submit to a chemical test of her breath. The result showed a BAC of .189%. Based on his investigation, he filed charges of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (general impairment), Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (highest rate of alcohol), and also Driving on the Right Side of the Roadway. These charges are being filed at MDJ Keller's office.
