Strangulation / Simple Assault / Stalking / Terroristic Threats Arrest, 5:05 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2020, 101 Granite Run Drive – Hilton Garden Hotel (MT) – Thomas J. Rhodes, M/55, of Altoona, PA, was charged with the above offense following a domestic dispute, while staying as a guest in the hotel. During the altercation, Rhodes punched the victim in the stomach, face, and head, causing injury to all three (3) locations. Rhodes then pushed the victim onto the bed, climbed on top of the victim, and began to use his body weight to make breathing difficult. While on top of the victim, Rhodes also placed both hands around her neck and impeded her ability to breathe for approximately thirty (30) seconds. The victim suffered injury to her neck and throat. After releasing the victim, Rhodes stood over her and stated that he could kill her easily, and that only one of them was going to leave the hotel room alive. Rhodes then fled the hotel prior to police arrival. A criminal complaint was filed and an arrest warrant obtained. Rhodes remains a wanted person at this time.
