UPDATED: 3:00 PM, Tuesday, May 31, 2022

Temporary traffic signals are installed and crews are finishing up the final wiring.  We are expecting the signal to be operational by 4:00 pm.  However, please plan accordingly.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2022, a vehicle operated by Marco A. Blancas Vasquez M/23 of Coatesville, PA, was fleeing from a police pursuit from another jurisdiction on Route 30 West.  After police terminated the pursuit, Blancas Vasquez exited at the New Holland Pike exit (Manheim Township), drove up onto a traffic island, and struck a traffic signal post, doing major damage to the signal and causing the vehicle to catch fire in the process. Blancas Vasquez was taken into custody by East Lampeter Township Police.

Although power was restored and a temporary fix is in place at the intersection, Manheim Township Police will be directing traffic at the intersection during the day beginning Tuesday, May 31, 2022, until a more permanent repair occurs. Lanes will be limited and either stop signs or police will be present. Motorists will experience delays and should consider an alternate route.

We are aware of the heavy traffic this intersection sees during your daily commute.  While Officers will attempt to help traffic flow, we are asking anyone that can seek an alternate route to do so.
