Shovel Snow From Your Sidewalks! It's Illegal to Not Do So!

The Manheim Township Police Department felt that it would be a good time to remind citizens of the snow removal ordinances that affect our service area.  This is following the large snow storm that recently struck the Lancaster County area (there's also talk of another storm coming in the next few days!).


MANHEIM TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS

Snow and / or ice must be removed from sidewalks within 24 hours after the cessation of snowfall.  The cleared path must be no less than 36 inchesCLICK HERE to read the full ordinance, to include the penalties for failing to comply.


LANCASTER TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS

Snow and / or ice must be removed from sidewalks within 48 hours after the cessation of snowfall.  The cleared path must be no less than 24 inchesCLICK HERE to read the full ordinance, to include the penalties for failing to comply.
