Results of DUI Checkpoint From Independence Day Weekend Are In! Here Are The Results!


From 10:30 p.m., on Friday, July 2nd, 2021 until 2:30 a.m., on Saturday, July 3rd, 2021, officers from the Manheim Township Police Department participated in a DUI checkpoint, arranged by the Lancaster County DUI Task Force.  Numerous officers from agencies throughout Lancaster County assisted Manheim Township Police officers, who hosted the checkpoint.  The location, Columbia Avenue near School Lane, was chosen by the taskforce based off crash and DUI arrest data.

During this time period, 571 cars drove through the checkpoint.  18 vehicles were stopped for officers to test drivers for impairment.  Of these, 8 were arrested for DUI.  One (1) of the arrestees was also found in possession of a controlled substance during a search incident to arrest.
