In November, the Manheim Township Police Department starts its participation in No Shave November with Beards For Brothers.  This will also be the first year the department participates in this program, which raises funds to benefits men’s health.  Beards For Brothers has selected two recipients who are local emergency responders, who will benefit from the raised contributions.  Also, 10% of the total funds raised will also be donated to A Week Away, which is a program which provides a vacation to persons suffering from life-threatening illnesses, and allows them to spend time with loved ones in a peaceful, relaxed environment, and renews their willingness to fight the illness.

Participation in the Beards For Brothers program allows employees from 20 Lancaster County police departments to remain unshaven for the month of November, after donating to the fund.  As of October 30th, 2019, Beards For Brothers had raised $5,500.00 of their $10,000.00 goal.  If you are interested in making a donation, or learning more about the program, please visit their GoFundMe page by clicking this link.  If you are interested in obtaining Beards For Brothers apparel, please see the PDF attached at the bottom of this post.

In December 2019, the Manheim Township Police Department will once again be participating in the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.  A toy collection box has been placed in the lobby of the police station where unwrapped toys may be donated.  These toys will then be wrapped and given to children in need.

This is the season for reflecting on being grateful.  The Manheim Township Police Department is honored to be a part of this special community and is proud to 'pay it forward.'  Questions or inquires about any of these programs can be directed to Officer Natalie Littlehale.
